McCann Enterprise has been appointed by Nestlé to create and launch their global open innovation platform brand – Henri@Nestlé. The platform expands on Nestlé’s ongoing commitment to work with startups by building on the Silicon Valley Innovation Outpost, launched in 2013. The new platform will enable technology partners and early stage entrepreneurs the opportunity to partner with Nestlé and gain access to its geographic reach and extensive brand portfolio.
The site will provide ongoing business challenges covering a wide range of themes, from digital services and sustainability to creative content and product innovation amongst others. Potential innovation partners can submit their ideas to the site and successful applicants will receive funding and the chance to partner, pilot and scale their solution with Nestlé.
This puts Nestlé squarely at the cutting edge of one of the biggest trends in business today. Accenture has recently forecast that in the next 5 years the proportion of total revenues generated by large companies from such collaborations is set to rise from 9% to 20%. Henri@Nestlé is due to launch end June with McCann Enterprise creating the positioning, identity, website, launch campaign and ongoing support for the brand.
Pete Blackshaw, Nestlé’s global Head of Digital and Social Media commented, “McCann Enterprise totally understands the Nestlé corporate brand, the importance of open innovation and the opportunity it presents for our innovation partners and ourselves”.
Stephen Meade, CEO of McCann Enterprise commented, “We are immensely proud be part of such an important global initiative, helping to unite and expand Nestlé’s existing commitment to work with entrepreneurs and startups. This is truly a unique opportunity and we are delighted to be Nestlé’s partners in bringing it to life”.
